Connect with your mystic side at Joshua Tree

Location

Desert destinations are always hot spots for adventurous travelers, and Joshua Tree is definitely on the to-do list of many wanderers—and rightly so. In addition to having a unique landscape, Joshua Tree exudes a different, almost magical energy. Here are some experiences to help you get closer to your spiritual side and take a break to relax and unwind.

The Integratron, an unforgettable sound experience.
If you seek relaxation and rejuvenation, do not miss out on the Integratron. Created by the ufologist John Van Tassel in 1957, this is a sensorial experience comparable to a baby’s nap, which takes place inside of a sphere-like structure.

A Cha Dao zen tea ceremony.
If you love tea and want to transport yourself to Morocco, India, or Tibet, you need to try the Cha Dao Zen tea ceremony. Translating to “the way of tea”, Cha Dao is an ancient practice that integrates tea as a beverage, tradition, and medicine for the body, mind, and spirit, with dao, meaning knowledge passed from teacher to student.

Yoga and Meditation.
Joshua Tree is definitely the perfect backdrop for a Yoga or Meditation session. At our Rockaway Ranch or Fairmount Hideout you can enjoy a beautiful landscape to connect with the Joshua Trees during your morning sessions.

A sky full of stars.
Joshua Tree National park is located far from major cities so it has very little light pollution. It also has an ideal climate—dry and with few clouds— which makes it an ideal place for stargazing.

Plan your Joshua Tree Getaway

To fully experience everything Joshua Tree has to offer, plan to stay for at least 2-3 days. This will give you enough time to explore the national park, hike the trails, and experience the mystic vibes of the area.
The best time to visit Joshua Tree is from October to May when the weather is pleasant and suitable for outdoor activities. The summer is approaching, and with it, the temperatures can get very high, so it is very important to be prepared. Here are 3 tips to enjoy the dessert from June through August:

  • Stay hydrated and make sure to ALWAYS bring your reusable water bottle with you.
  • Dress appropriately— a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are a must.
  • Plan your activities for early mornings or late afternoons when the temperatures are cooler.
